Kremenchuk Technical Carbon Plant To Export Its Products To Bridgestone Affiliate In Turkey In 2008
Next year the Kremenchuk technical carbon plant (Poltava region) is planning to start selling its products to the Turkish affiliate of Bridgestone , a major world producer of automobile tires.
Journalists learned this from enterprise director Viacheslav Yavorskyi.
According to him, they are holding talks on signing a long-term contract for supplying technical carbon (soot) via Polish partners.
«During the first ten days of October, we ship two trial batches. Next year we start permanent supplies to Bridgestone company,» Yavorskyi said.
He also noted that earlier the plant signed a contract for supplying technical carbon to Dubai (Saudi Arabia). Since this spring, the plant has been cooperating with Maad Koush (Iran) which produces chemical goods.
«They have performed payments, and now we are supplying our products to these countries,» he said.
Yavorskyi did not specify the contracted product volumes, saying it was a commercial secret.
The plant is a large producer of technical carbon (soot) used in tire industry.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Kremenchuk technical carbon plant ended 2006 with a net profit of UAH 15.399 million. In 2006, the company increased net revenues by 55.82% or UAH 83.737 million, compared to 2005, to UAH 233.746 million.
The plant exports the most part of the output to the large tire producers Michelin (France), Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. (USA), Continental AG (Germany).
According to the enterprise, by late 2006, 19% shares in the plant belonged to Kyiv-based Khimopol Ltd.; 11.9% to Donetsk-based opened joint stock company Khimeks and 64.3% to individuals.
Bridgestone is the world leading producer of tires was founded in Japan in 1931. It is a multinational corporation of 155 plants in 27 countries.
Bridgestone plants in Turkey produce tires under Lassa trademark.
