Bridgestone Ships 10 Millionth Runflat

Bridgestone Corp. said it has shipped its 10 millionth runflat tire.


The tiremaker produces runflat tires at six plants in the U.S., Japan, Poland and South Africa, and is hoping to achieve a stable supply of runflats for automakers worldwide, according to Bridgestone.

The company said that it recognizes runflat tires as strategic products. Because they can also contribute greatly to safety and reduce environmental burden, Bridgestone is hoping to further permeate and expand the market.
