Goodyear is recalling 5,300 winter tires

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. will be recalling 5,300 Dunlop Sport 3D. These tires were manufactured between Sept 4, 2005, through May 17, 2008.


Goodyear is recalling:

• Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D tires in size 225/50R17 with DOT number DM40 2TTR;
• Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 tires in size 275/35R18 with DOT number DMBL 2J8R.

NHTSA said the tires fail to conform to the tire strength requirements of FMVSS 109.
According to NTSA, these tires may have a thin area of rubber on a portion of the tire bead, which could lead to a poor bead seat and air loss.

Goodyear will notify owners and replace the noncompliant tires free of charge. For more information owners may contact Goodyear toll-free at 1-800-321-2136.
