1946
- With a history of rubber production since 1909, Vredestein Banden B.V. is founded in 1946 with the establishment of its first tyre production plant in Enschede, the Netherlands.

1963
- Vredestein is among the first tyre producers to launch radial passenger car tyres in Europe.

1990
- Amtel is founded in Russia to supply equipment and components to the defence industry, and natural rubber to Russian tyre manufacturers.

1993
- Vredestein acquires Swiss tyre manufacturer Maloya Tyres, in a move to broaden its core customer base.

1999
- Amtel acquires a share in the Kirov Tyre Plant, and acquires both the Voronezh Tyre Plant and the Kemerovo Chemical Fibre Plant.
- Vredestein launches Sportrac, the first 'designer' tyre produced in cooperation with Giugiaro Design.

2002
- Vredestein Banden launches the Ultrac ultra high-performance tyre, incorporating the world’s first ’bio design’ for a high-performance tyre, from Giugiaro Design.

2004
- Amtel launches the Amtel Planet summer and Amtel NordMaster winter tyres.

2005
- Amtel Holdings Holland N.V. acquires Vredestein Banden B.V. The newly-merged company is renamed Amtel-Vredestein N.V.
- Amtel-Vredestein is among the first Russian companies to be listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: AMV).

2006
- To mark the 60th anniversary of Amtel-Vredestein subsidiary Vredestein Banden, the company launches the Ultrac Sessanta tyre: a top-quality, ultra high-performance tyre with a unique asymmetrical non-directional tread pattern (by Europe's foremost automotive and industrial design team Giugiaro Design), supporting speeds of up to 300 kilometres per hour.
- Amtel-Vredestein retail subsidiary AV-TO becomes the largest retailer with over 103 stores in major Russian cities.
- To meet ever-increasing demand for its tyres in Russia, Amtel-Vredestein acquires Moscow Tyre Plant.
- AV-TO acquires leading auto parts distributor Trade House Pigma, Nizhniy Novgorod, and tyre wholesale distributor Trade House Megashina, becoming the largest distributor of tyres and car parts in Russia.
