For the first time in three years, a foreign tire-maker may build a plant in Russia. The U.S. company Goodyear is considering a $200-250-million project in Yaroslavl Region to produce up to 5 million car tires a year.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and PZU today announced an agreement that will significantly enhance the value of Polish tire company TC Debica for all of its shareholders and allow for greater transparency to and input from investors.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company today announced that it will ask Polish tire company TC Debica – in which it is the majority shareholder – to nearly triple its commercial tire production for Goodyear from 1,700 to 5,000 tires per day.

Debica has launched a new passenger car tyre aimed at the mileage market. The Debica Passio 2 summer tyre is the latest addition to the Passio product line, which is one of the most popular summer tyres in Poland, according to the Polish manufacturer (owned by the Goodyear group).

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. announced that it plans to invest more than $100 million to expand production of high performance and ultra-high performance tires in Poland.
