Matador FM 1 Vector
Construction of the FM 1 VECTOR tyre and the structure of its materialThe tyre is built from an ALL STEEL construction with a notube rendering that consists of one load-bearing insertion built from steelcord and four contact breaker insertions from the same type of material. The tyre base has a new profile: the applied hexagonal cord, double core, with a steelcord protection and base fillings from special mixtures.
The tyre body is constructed from a profiled inner rubber, with a new system of rubber covering of the steelcord body, and contact breakers with the application of a new shoulder part filling. The tread of the tyre is composed of two layers ? the external one which is made from a mixture that has a long durability with a high number of made kilometers and an inner layer which leads away the heat produced during the rotation of a loaded tyre.
Technical specification of the product and the tread pattern characteristics
The tread pattern FM1 is a proved type of universal tread pattern developed for cargo vehicles, which are used in demanding operational conditions of regional character, typical for their combination of normal and field roads and a high portion of unpaved road surfaces. The period of operational application of these is during the whole year. It is recommended to apply the tyres with the above mentioned tread pattern on the front axle of vehicles. On firm surfaces and mainly during the summer season it is possible to apply tyres with this tread pattern on the whole vehicle. The overall configuration of the tread pattern is optimized for maintaining a high universality of the pattern which enables mounting also in semi-aggressive conditions.
Typical examples would be all kinds of construction sites and areas with a high portion of non-maintained infrastructure.
The tread pattern characteristics
- sharp circumferential grooves enable maintaining direct traction on common road surfaces, mainly in demanding weather and load conditions
- short transversal grooves increase the effectiveness of the cross amplitude of the circumferential grooves in order to improve the circumferential traction pressure on the lower quality and winter surfaces
- strengthened shoulder belt with sharp contact grooves provides for better traction on the less-bearing surfaces and at the same time guarantees a balanced loss of the groove depth caused by the wearing of the tyre
- alternate extrusion of blocks into the shoulder part of the tyre increases the effectiveness on a soft terrain
- stable and massive circumferential belts secure high resistance of the tread pattern to mechanical damage and enable the transition of high endurance pressures without creating a redundant deformational energy
Driving qualities
Tyres with the FM1 tread pattern maintain direct traction very well on firm road surfaces, and unstable surfaces as well. They are very resistant to mechanical damage and heavy loads.
Application
Tyres with the FM1 tread pattern are recommended for usage on front axles of cargo vehicles. They are also suitable for vehicles with pivoted half-axles. In combination with the tyres produced with the DM1 tread pattern on driving axles, an optimal durability of tyres can be reached.
