Construction of the FR1 GOLIATH tyre and the structure of its material
The tyre is built from an ALL STEEL construction with a no-tube rendering that consists of one load-bearing insertion built from steelcord and four contact breaker insertions from the same type of material. The tyre base has a new profile: the applied hexagonal cord, double core, with a steelcord protection and base fillings from special mixtures. The tyre body is constructed from a profiled inner rubber, with a new system of rubber covering of the steelcord body, and contact breakers with the application of a new shoulder part filling. The tread of the tyre is composed of two layers ? the external one which is made from a mixture that has a long durability with a high number of made kilometers and an inner layer which leads away the heat produced during the rotation of a loaded tyre.

Technical specification of the product and the tread pattern characteristics
FR1 is a specially developed tread pattern for the 20? tyres used by cargo vehicles employed mainly in regional and local transportation on all types of hardened road surfaces. Thanks to its very sharp circumferential configuration it is designed mainly for front axles, but on a seasonal basis it is possible to apply this type of tread pattern on all axles. The all-season usage is recommended only on front axles. This tread pattern replaces older patterns MPS 410 and MP 317. This tread pattern, when compared to its predecessors has a higher portion of positive surface for longer durability and at the same time a more sophisticated technology for decreasing the noise emissions.
The optimized configuration gives this tread pattern a high level of operational security even during harsh weather conditions such as water or snow. The tread pattern is easy to cut.

The tread pattern characteristics
- firm and further strengthened shoulder parts help to maintain a balanced process of vertical wearing and thus higher values of durability
- sharp circumferential grooves provide good traction and high sensitivity of steering ? this solution is typical for a very easy driving performance
- carefully designed lamelling which improves traction qualities on wet surfaces and at the same time helps the tyre to maintain high stability throughout the central figures
- profiled running of groove walls creates suitable conditions for cleaning of the dirt from grooves and at the same time strengthens the internal tread pattern belts in the transversal direction

Driving qualities
Tyres with the FR1 tread pattern are produced in the 20? version for older cargo vehicles as a replacement for the MP317 and MP410 tread pattern models. This tread pattern is adjusted for application in regional traffic. It maintains the direction very well and through the wide circumferential belts drains water and wet snow very well. Tyres with the FR1 tread pattern reach high values in durability.
