Goodyear Tire & Rubber will increase its stake in TC Debica, a Polish contract tire maker, to 66% and work with management to nearly triple commercial tire production for Goodyear, up to 5,000 tires per day from 1,700.

For the first time in three years, a foreign tire-maker may build a plant in Russia. The U.S. company Goodyear is considering a $200-250-million project in Yaroslavl Region to produce up to 5 million car tires a year.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company today announced that it will ask Polish tire company TC Debica – in which it is the majority shareholder – to nearly triple its commercial tire production for Goodyear from 1,700 to 5,000 tires per day.

Goodyear-owned tyre maker Sava Tires, one of Slovenia's largest exporters, has become part of a new organisational structure of 11 Central and Eastern European countries.
