Shelled Micro-Bubble Compound
Yokohama’s Shelled Micro-Bubble technology reinforces the tread block and reduces tread squirm to overcome the conflicting demands of ice traction and dry road stability. Bubble-only compounds can deform easily, causing tread-block squirm.
The greater overall stiffness of Yokohama’s Shelled Micro-Bubble Compound reinforces the tread block. Also, as the tread wears, the hard shell breaks and creates “biting” edges for increased traction.

Silica Tread Compound
In addition, Ice Guard’s Silica Tread Compound improves wet traction and remains pliable at low temperature.

Pyramid Sipes
A departure from traditional sipes, Ice Guard’s three-dimensional pyramid sipes create strong tread blocks that maximize traction under icy, wet and dry conditions.

Micro-Diagonal Sipes
